Does it matter what uni you go to if you want to go into the finance sector?

So I'm starting Year 12 and will study maths, economics and geography. I'm hoping to then study Economics or a business related degree at uni. I was wondering to get into the financial sector, does the uni that you attend have any affect on the ability to be able to get a respected job in this industry?

Hiii, I’ve not done anything finance related as of yet so looks like we’re in the same boat lol. I just don’t want to go to a certain uni to find out that I should have gone to a more respected and well-recognised uni to stand a better chance at getting a competitive job within the sector.

For the very top jobs in Central/East London. Yes a little.

For the thousands of other finance roles that are not as competitive, no.

Yeah I was looking online for the rankings of the unis for specific courses. And I’ll have a look at that city of London uni, thanks for the recommendation. I just hope I’m capable of being able to achieve the grades that are required to get into the top universities!
