What's your name?
Izzy (like literally everyone else)
How did you find the GCSE experience?
Wayyyy better than I thought, all 9s (sorry to brag!)

What A-Levels (or other equivalent qualifications) are you taking? [Specifying boards will help to find other people sitting the same exams!]
Physics
Maths
Chemistry
I should check the exam boards...!
What is your favourite subject?
No idea, maybe Chemistry
Have you stayed on at your school or are you going somewhere new?
Somewhere new, not completely sure about it but hopefully it'll work out

Your initial feelings about starting Year 12?
Nervous... It should be okay but I can't believe we're here and I'm a bit scared for how hard it'll be
Any hobbies or interests?
I play the flute, badminton and tennis but my favourite thing is vegan cooking/baking
What are you looking forward to the most?
Free periods and being treated more like an adult at my new sixth form college! Also, new friends

How did you find the GCSE experience?
My year 11 was actually one of the worst years of my life including the exam period. Ended up actually making it out with really good grades though surprisingly.

What A-Levels (or other equivalent qualifications) are you taking?
English Lit (eduqas)
Maths (edexcel)
Law (aqa)
Further Maths (aqa)

What is favourite subject?
Maths and English Lit.

Have you stayed on at your school or are you going somewhere new?
Somewhere new, my secondary school didn’t have it’s own sixth form so I’m off to a sixth form college.

Your initial feelings about starting Year 12?
A mix of excited and terrified. Excited to meet new people and learn new things. Terrified to be actually having to start working hard again.

Any hobbies or interests?
My only hobby has bee studying so I’m hoping I actually find something more interesting to do in the next two years.

What are you looking forward to most?
Learning new things, meeting new people, meeting my teachers, being in a new environment, wearing my own clothes..... there’s so much to be excited about.

What's your name?
Jemima

How did you find the GCSE experience?
Horrible, I suffered horrible Anxiety before the exams and it peaked during them. I've since been prescribed medication and now i'm trying to look to the future. Here are my grades though
Maths-7
English Literature- 7
Combined Science- 7-6
Geography- 7
History- 7
English Language- 5
French- 6
Art- 4

What A-Levels (or other equivalent qualifications) are you taking? [Specifying boards will help to find other people sitting the same exams!]
Edexcel Geography
Edexcel Maths
AQA History

What is your favourite subject?
Maths

Have you stayed on at your school or are you going somewhere new?
Stayed at my school

Your initial feelings about starting Year 12?
Extremely scared, 2 of my best friends have gone to college and my other friends are all doing completely different courses/subjects at my sixth form, so I feel worried that I'm going to find everything extremely difficult and that i'm going to feel isolated

Any hobbies or interests?
I love reading, I spend WAY TOO MUCH time watching Gilmore Girls on netflix. I'm a big fan of Downton Abbey and can't wait for the movie. I love Harry potter STILL. I don't really have any major hobbies

What are you looking forward to the most?
Having free periods
Being allowed to leave site
not having to wear uniform
spending more time on a smaller amount of subjects

My alias is Cirro, my study Instagram account is here and my study Tumblr is here

How did you find the GCSE experience?
A mixture... it mostly thrilled me, but I often worried that I wasn't revising hard enough b/c we're competing against everyone and anyone. However, my results astounded me -- I couldn't believe what I'd achieved through self-teaching in 1.5 years [and 1 year fast tracks for Maths and Eng Lang]!

What A-Levels (or other equivalent qualifications) are you taking? [Specifying boards will help to find other people sitting the same exams!]
Edexcel Biology [9 in GCSE] with its practical components
Edexcel Chemistry [8 in GCSE] with its practical components
Edexcel Mathematics [8 in GCSE]
- [though I'm being online-schooled CIE Maths which has an extra Pure paper so I'mma have to sift out the useless bits]

What is your favourite subject?
Either Maths or Chemistry. Or Biology. Srsly it depends on the topic

Have you stayed on at your school or are you going somewhere new?
I'm staying on at my online school called Interhigh -- all the good schools are far away from me.

Your initial feelings about starting Year 12?
Part of me's like:
I'm ecstatic for sixth form! I can't wait until I can learn my favourite subjects in greater depth which trampling on Geography and English!

Then another part of me's like:
Everyone's talking abt Chem's demonic nature and Bio's ultra-precise mark schemes... idk if the jump will be so terrible. I did get good grades at GCSE but then the ppl who said those things got good grades too...

Any hobbies or interests?
I play netball every Saturday [Goal Attack, Center or Goal Shooter] and I play the piano, make friendship bracelets and sometimes knit.

What are you looking forward to the most?
Starting my A levels and later on learning that they'll all be okay and that I am capable of attaining those grades.

How did you find the GCSE experience?
It was stressful - I revised hella hours but it was worth it in the end. I guess the experience was good as well because studying actually gave me something TO DO instead of being on my phone 24/7

What A-Levels (or other equivalent qualifications) are you taking? [Specifying boards will help to find other people sitting the same exams!]
Biology (WJEC) - got AA in double science GCSE
Chemistry (WJEC)
History (WJEC) - got an A in GCSE

What is your favourite subject?
Chemistry 100% but it’s probably gonna make me cry in A-level lol

Have you stayed on at your school or are you going somewhere new? I’m staying on at my current school, as I think the teachers for my subjects are good and I know them well

Your initial feelings about starting Year 12?
Pretty scared because this is the year I gotta apply for uni and do UKCAT🥺

Any hobbies or interests?
I love swimming and I go to reading club

What are you looking forward to the most?
What appeals to me ab a-level is that the classes are smaller and that the pupils in the class have CHOSEN to study that subject so I’m excited that everybody will be more mature than my GCSE classes

Business would be OK, but it would be easier to go down the finance/business route with that set of 3. Biology would strengthen your case for Medicine, imo. Then again, check with unis you're looking to apply to and see if Biology is a requirement for med. If not, go with Business!

In terms of stationary, your standard pencil case, probably. Maybe an A-Level Maths set too? I think you need more equipment to do the special stuff you guys do at A-Level. :yep:
At my college a-level biology is full and I don’t like biology.

Then go with Business! Are you still 100% on Medicine though? It might be worth looking down other maths and business related careers, because by the sounds of it, you enjoy it more.

What's your name? liv

How did you find the GCSE experience? year 10 & 11 were horrible to me due to my mental illness getting worse, so i never had motivation to revise. i ended up cramming the night before/on the day of the exams and got all 7s and 8s, which i'm pretty happy with (i owe those grades to seneca lol)

What A-Levels (or other equivalent qualifications) are you taking? [Specifying boards will help to find other people sitting the same exams!]
AQA biology
OCR chemistry
AQA psychology - might do maths/english lit instead, i'll see if i like it when i start 6th form

What is your favourite subject? biology

Have you stayed on at your school or are you going somewhere new? staying on

Your initial feelings about starting Year 12? pretty excited to see my friends, meet new people and do the subjects i like. although i'm worried that i won't motivate myself to revise and will ruin my future options hahaha*nervous laughter*

Any hobbies or interests? drawing, playing guitar, writing, running (although i can't be bothered most of the time)

What are you looking forward to the most? seeing some of my friends every day again, and hopefully making new friends although i struggle with talking to new people

What's your name?

Not telling you :P

How did you find the GCSE experience?

Not too bad tbh, I reached my stress peak with the Y10 end of year mocks (my first set). Got ten 9s, two 8s and one A* in my GCSEs with 9s in all the subjects I'm planning to do for A level which I thought was pretty decent. And I've learned that I can't judge grades since exams I was upset about I ended up acing lol.

What A-Levels (or other equivalent qualifications) are you taking?

Current plan:
OCR Biology A
OCR Chemistry A
OCR Physics A
OCR Mathematics
AQA History

What is your favourite subject?

Honestly I love all the subjects I'm doing for A level- hence why I've made the crazy choice to at least start with all five of them.

Have you stayed on at your school or are you going somewhere new?

I'm going to the partner sixth form of my school as they offer sciences and maths but I am continuing history at my current school.

Your initial feelings about starting Year 12?

I am quite excited to getting to know my new comrades and getting my teeth into my new subjects- although I am slightly concerned about managing my time and workload as I plan to do D of E this year and prepping for applications to Oxbridge (hopefully) next year.

Any hobbies or interests?

Walking, skiing, badminton (when I can be bothered), learning stuff, reading, orchestra (I'm grade 5 violin and grade 4 piano)

What are you looking forward to the most?

Being untaught all the LIES from GCSE Physics and Chemistry, ditching English and being treated more like an adult.

If you have a GYG* blog, link it here:

Hmm, maybe if I have the time.
