how many hours a night did you revise in year 12, and year 13?

what methods did you use to revise?

do you find any benefit from reading / making notes?
near to mocks/exams, after school I would revise from 5pm to 10pm with dinner and a few breaks in between- usually 2-3h revision but the day before an actual A-Level I would revise the entire day if i had a day off (with breaks obviously) and then if i had an AM exam the day before, I would start revision at 3pm as I wanted time to relax after sitting an exam
I used a lot of youtube to revise, did all the past papers, made posters
and yes, contrary to what a lot of schools tell you, i did find benefit from reading and making notes, the day before an exam I would skim-read the entire textbook to refresh my knowledge

I’m taking maths, economics, business and biology currently and I’m going into year 13 in just over a week. What would be your best tips for year 13 to help attain top grades at the end of the year?

(Original post by rose236)
At GCSE I got 11 A*'s (maths, english lang/lit, biology, chemistry, physics, business, spanish, geography, photography, ICT) and at A-Level I got 3 A*'s in maths, economics, and biology, an A* in my EPQ and an A in AS further maths (which I self-taught). I am open to answering any questions about my grades or the subjects I took and will try my best to give advice

Hey, I am having to resit my mocks from last term for A level Biology as I did badly in them... I'm going to be in year 13, and so I really want to know what tips worked for you in order to get high grades, as I make mindmaps, use more than one textbook, write notes, do past papers, and still somehow managed to do badly. Also I know you didn't do Chemistry for A levels, but if you happen to have any tips for that as well, then that would be great!
Thank you

Do you know anyone who didn't do very well in Year 12 but changed their attitude and work ethic during the summer and did very well in Year 13 and got into a good uni? Is that possible?
