I feel like it would be a bit difficult for parliament to debate this petition while it's suspended but alright, you guys do you.

I don't mind the proroguing itself, it's the length of it I disagree with.
I should point out he’s not actually closing it for that long. Only about a week, we then go into conference season when it’s closed anyway.

It's a tad longer than that since as the Spectator has reported, "Based on the dates of the party conferences – and by comparison to previous years – the House ought to rise on September 12th and return on October 8th." The suspension is reportedly due to begin on September 10th (though I've seen the 9th floating around too) and end on October 14th.

The key issue is that time is short running up to the Brexit deadline and naturally Parliament wants to remain in the loop. Given the outrage and controversy seen today is seems that it's not just MPs that want Parliament to retain some control too.

Nearing a million folks
how many did the last one end up on? 6 million or so wasnt it?

I wouldn't get your hopes up for this one achieving any more than that one did.

I don't even support Brexit, but I am quite happy watching the gum flappers lose their minds.

I'm afraid you are not making any sense. No power can be 'taken back' from people who are not in power in the first place.
You'd get better results banging your head against the wall than trying to reason with that particular user. They have a tendency to speak in poorly articulated Fox sound bites and thats about it.
