I would have but it was really busy and my sister was basically dragging me out of there :emo:

that's one reason why I did a new paper - a lot seemed similar but i'll definitely brush up on the spec and make sure I know it all well. yeah I was the last year of the old spec - no numbered gcses for me
Have you done one from each board? Each board has a slightly different 'flavour' to the way they answer questions. Check on the safeguarding procedures too if you are tutoring online. I'd also do some reseach on effective pedagogy

I hope so too! been exactly a year to the day since I last had it cut :vroam:
Well we've got to store up energy for the coming year right
I haven't had mine cut in over 2  I kind of probably should but it's literally only just started going thin at the ends so :dontknow:

oh also the cup was cracked so it was spilling everywhere, overall a bad experience lol.
allow me to change your life here: position the lid hole to be on the opposite side of the seam of the cup

you've at least been getting ready, I'm just kinda vegetating. GL with tutoring!

it was iced so the lid hole was in the centre  and the crack was a vertical line down the side  so I just got a very sticky hand trying to stop the leak
yeah but all my preparations have been done from my bed  thanks! never done it before online or in person, so it's a bit nerve-racking :afraid:

hey everyone! time for this week's update

saturday
so we never went to the hairdressers on saturday  we were going to but we didn't get ready in time and then I forgot to call before they closed. instead I spent basically all day in bed playing sims again, then in the evening mum asked me to watch a film with her so we watched rocket man, it was okay but I wasn't really that interested lol. quite soon after that finished I just went upstairs and eventually went to sleep lol

sunday
pretty much the same as saturday during the day really - bed, tsr and sims :getmecoat: in the evening i caught up with university challenge but that was about all :dontknow:

monday
on monday I decided to forget the hairdressers and ended up cutting my own hair with kitchen scissors. and I didn't even just trim the ends lol I actually cut quite a bit off - it used to be like to the bottom of my chest and now it's above my shoulders I know this is like classic mental breakdown behaviour but I promise I'm ok  I'm actually really pleased with it and glad I didn't spend money getting it cut hahah. I then thought it would probably be a good idea to leave the house since I hadn't gone outside since friday, so I went for a walk that was like 1.5 miles each way so about 3 miles in total. I went into superdrug and bought a couple of bits, then went to caffe nero and got a coffee and then walked home again. was good to get out of the house for a while

I posted the top photo and that's what my sister messaged me

tuesday
on tuesday I didn't really do anything during the day but in the evening I went to a local pub with my mum and sister to do the pub quiz :awesome: we never usually get any prizes but somehow we came 3rd this time!? (I mean there still wasn't a prize for it, but we placed somewhere! madness) so we were really happy about that when we got home my sister asked me to trim her hair which I did and she is very happy with it :yep: maybe I should drop out of uni and go into hairdressing :beard:

wednesday
on wednesday I went into town to get a coffee - starbucks are doing some new chocolatey drink that sounded really nice so I got it to try. I hated it  I only drank about half of it before throwing it away, but my sister wrote my name on it (she served me :adore:) and she put a heart on the cup which I thought was dead cute. after this I went to my grandma's house for tea and to see her for the last time before leaving for uni, which was really nice :yep:

this was supposed to be a chilli but ended up being more like veggies in a tomato-ey sauce with rice  but it was really yummy!

thursday
back to newcastle! :woo: my coach was at 12:15 and I was there in plenty of time. got to the house at about half 3 and dumped all my stuff in my room, chatted to my friends for a bit before going to Morrisons to get some food. I then came home and cooked, watched tv with my friends for hours before going to bed because I was shattered  feels amazing to be back though!

friday (yesterday)
yesterday I woke up pretty early tbh and had a productive morning. I completed my profile for online tutoring so now all I have to do is my interview tomorrow :afraid: and then I called the orthodontist to reschedule my appointment. I also started another GCSE maths paper from a different exam board but didn't get round to finishing it - it seemed a lot easier than the other one I did :hmmm: so I'll finish it later and see. I also went over the specs to make sure there's nothing I've forgotten and I think I'm good tbh. interested to see what the interview tomorrow will involve :beard: I then played sims for ages then went and made tea and watched some telly. a pretty chilled evening tbh

saturday (today)
woke up at a similar time to yesterday but have had a much lazier day mainly just chilled on tsr tbh! the last friend in the house comes back tomorrow so I think we're gonna have a big catch up tomorrow night (I'll have to buy myself something to drink ) so that's exciting!

goals for second year
just feel like I should have some :dontknow: so here we go

1. join the dance club - have wanted to do this for a while. I'm not sure what style of dance I want to do yet but atm I'm leaning towards tap. they have free taster sessions next weekend so I'm gonna go on the sunday and see what it's like before joining

2. get another first? - since I did it last year I kinda wanna do it again. I won't be too upset if I don't manage it but it's always nice to have something to aim for

3. make more friends - I just wanna socialise a bit more this year. I love the friends I live with but I also want to get to know people outside of my course/my year so I'm gonna try and do this

4. save more money - I really don't want to be skint over summer again next year  hopefully I get this online tutoring job cos that'll help me out a lot, but otherwise with my loan and bursary I should still be alright :dontknow:

5. have a happier and healthier year than last - last year was a bit of a mess for various reasons. hoping to improve on a lot of things this year to have a better year :yep: I'll possibly talk about it in more detail later in the year but yeah haha

okay I think that's enough now

I hope everyone's had a good week, until next week :wavey:

OMG, I am SO impressed that you cut your own hair and that it looks so good! If I cut my own hair, it would not look like that

I enjoyed Rocketman I guess you're a bit young for Elton John films though :shakecane:

Good luck with the interview. I am crossing my fingers that you are happier and healthier this year - sounds like a really good thing to aim for
