    For anyone who's interested, that quote is known as the Kohima Epitaph,and was inspired by the 2nd Kohima division who fought against the 15th Japanese division's invasion of India in March 1944. So strictly speaking it refers to the Second World War, but it's very moving in any case.

    Techiacally, my class did give a minute slience. But only because we were watching a video at the time (Alan Titmarsh's, A History of Britian for those of you wanting to know).
