sweet!

I heard the teachers were really laid back etc and you can call them by their first names, sounds cool

Is there a dress code? Or dya just wear anything?

Thanks guys!

yeah they are all really laid back, if you don't do the work, well its your fault and they don't really care. Yeah, most teachers at the college I don't even know what there last name is, you'd never call them it.
No dress code, whatever you want.
Its very laid back but at the same time on of the best sixth form colleges around.
 a fun place to be

They will be a bit lenient im sure, i don't know i didn't have that problem.
but im sure you will have got the grades!

and Sam Rogers is my psychology teacher aha. he's well...strange  we still don't get wheres he's from he looks Asian with a weird accent and dyes his hair red. He's probably a good tutor though I'm sure, he's a good teacher.

yeah the interview is really easy going, it isn't to determine if you get a place or not, thats just your grades etc. its just a chat about if your ok with the subjects you've chosen etc.

Haha cool, yeah sam is a funny man i must admit

I also enjoyed it there; such a variety of things going on. However it isnt the best sixth form college in the area the royal grammar is one of the best in the country so thats better.

oh just noticed, yes it is, the grammar school is not a sixth form college. & it isn't all that great anyway  i know people who turned down places and left to go to the sixth form in town.
a few mates of mine went there getting far worse gcse's than me. whilst quite a few of my closest mates chose the sixth form instead and they got far better results than me e.g. 11/12 A*s
it depends what you want out of sixth form though... : )

Well lets just say the people at the grammar get far better results than people at sixth form and i liked it because of how many people go there, not many, quite a small environment if you like:biggrin:

lol well people at sixth form get 6 A's at alevel
but yeah it depends if you want a near 3000 strong environment or a small 150 people sixth form surrounded by the younger years as well  if you put the work in you can get good grades whereever i supose and likewise if you don't!

lol, its not anti social the 150 people environment really! at least you get to know everyone, with 3000 people you know faces of many and know quite a few but still. small is probably more sociable. only bad grammar point is wearing suits  its all good

To the OP,
I live in Ipswich too and go to the Sixth Form College. Its really great and I'm glad you're interested in it. I have to get the train everyday (at 7.50am unfortunately) and loads of other people come from Ipswich too. Honestly, I don't think its too difficult to get in as long as you do reasonably well in your GCSEs. What high school do you go to? If they don't offer a course at your current school and they do at college then they will be likely to offer you a place. Good luck.

I can't remember tbh lol

I think youre given a timetable and you choose which lessons to go to (from the subjects you picked)

if I remember correctly this time table was very hard to interpret lol

what school do you got to

Hi I was just wondering if any one knew the chances of getting into a subject when you're on a waiting list? I changed one of my courses but the one I wanted was full, is it likely I could get to do it?
