I’ve got a question I’m super confused about, can anyone help?

Write in the form x^n:

a) √x^5

b) x^6/x^3

Hi there op.

a^{\frac{1}{2}} = \sqrt{a}

and think about the laws of exponents. Division of two bases to their powers is the same as subtracting the powers.
\dfrac{a^{b}}{a^{c}} = a^{b -c}
Lastly:
\big(a^{b} \big)^{c} = a^{b \cdot c}

So for part b it’s x^3?? That makes sense now thanks. Part a is still confusing me sorry, so if the power is a fraction it’s the root of the number but the denominator determines which root it is, is the answer (x^5)^1/2??
