It's what you make of it, if you come to troll and get banned then yes it is a waste of your time and everyone elses
If you come here to be constructive, give helpful advice and make friends then no it isnt at all

I mean most people don't meet their future wife/husband/significant other through TSR so it wasn't an immediate thought but it's definitely been a benefit

Whether or not it’s a waste of time depends on how much time you spend on here and what you spend that time doing. For me, I use it as a motivator and to give others advice - so I don’t think it’s a waste of time at all!

It really depends what you class as a 'waste of time' in my view - for instance, watching tv or reading could be considered a waste of time in that they're rarely constructive activities. Personally I don't consider things that are enjoyable to be a waste of time though, as is the case with TSR.

From a personal perspective, I've made many long-term friends on here, it's helped with job interviews, and I met my partner of >4 years, so it hasn't been a waste of time for me in the slightest.

I mainly used to use it for procrastinating but I've actually met some decent people on here, and gotten some good advice.
