SRA - suitability test - references/statement

Hi all
I hope someone could help.
I am in the process of completing the SRA suitability application and just found out that references need to be from professionals around the time of the offence.
My driving offence was in 2011 and I can only get in touch with one of my employers from around then, however, I am not sure what sort of things would he need to put in his statement? He is not from a legal background and after speaking to the SRA and looking online I am still not sure what the referee's statement should say.
Has anyone experienced this or could give me some guidance please?
The SRA FAQs might have the answer...

I am a referee for a person disclosing character and suitability issues as part of their application for admission. What do I need to include in my reference?

Your reference needs to include:

▪your relationship with the applicant
▪that you are aware of the matter(s) disclosed
▪that in your opinion the applicant is a suitable person to be admitted

Good luck

Hi I’d be interested to know the outcome. Did you manage to obtain references from people at the the time of the offence and how long did it take to hear back from the SRA
