I’ve spoken to quite a few people and a good few have mentioned. “I didn’t think I’d be here on results day” or “I didn’t think I’d make it uni”. I could understand it in one person but do a lot of ppl think like this? That their life is just not going to make it to a milestone because of their own mental health?

Yes but also i think it's important to bear in mind that it's not always 100% serious. It can also be the dark humour that is derived from poor mental health..

Yes, it is common. I have certainly felt that way and even though I've passed the milestone and am doing much better, that mindset still subconsciously affects the choices I make in life today.
