Two universities which have offered me a place have sent me letters regarding subject specific ''visit days''.

How handy that they are both in January, one on a day I have an exam and the other the day before.

Do these bloody unis know we have IMPORTANT modules in January?

    URGHH!

And apparantley, showing up makes you very favourable even if you just miss your offer. so i am pretty much screwed.

Don't worry, just ask for another date - I had to change most of my 'visit days' when I applied to Uni.

Reviewing the work you've done is a lot better than sitting on a train or walking around a university when you know for a fact that you'll have more free time in 2 weeks.

You know, these visit days, are really unimportant, hence the reason unis dont even check when your A level exams are when they offer you dates. My friend applied to do chemistry, and york asked her to visit on the day she had 3 chemistry exams...

Two of the uni's i've applied for are the major ones in Birmingham that do Teacher Training - interviews last all day... and they both gave me the same date... you'd think they'd think about it slightly...

at the maths department in exeter we have 9 open days - so if people cant do one then theres always the option of another. The open days are decided from the days when people are free to do them - which is why theyre wed afternoon in my department- it would be impossible to check when candidates have other things on.
