My personal opinion is that York is slightly more reputable for Law but it won't make much difference when it comes to applying for training contracts. I prefer York as a city as it is bigger and has more going on. Other people will know more about the LLB there
Meh, it barely makes a difference.
People tend to get so caught up on “reputation” when it barely matters. No employer is going to care if you went to York or Lancaster as they’re a similar standard. Reputation would only matter in say an Oxford or Westminster scenario.
Base your decision off whether you prefer the isolated nature of Lancaster and it’s campus or the small city/location of York and factors like that. Reputation is minuscule.
