Retaking 2nd year at university Watch

Hi,

I've just been informed by my university that I can retake my modules which resits I failed. However, in my mitigating circumstances form I asked to retake the year since I feel all of my modules were affected by my poor mental health. however, I failed to mention this in my form as I was extremely stressed at the time and didn't realize that I may possibly have to withdraw to do my retakes in March.

Is there anyway I can appeal this decision if I have to withdraw for my retakes? I can't stay at home for the year as my family home is what causes my mental health issues in the first place. I don't have anyone else to stay with else wise I would be staying with them.

Should I call the university up and mention that I feel all my modules were affected this year and withdrawing would not be good for my mental wellbeing, especially since I am meant to be receiving therapy in the city of my university which is vital for me and I don't think I could live by myself for a year.

Please help me.

I think you should call your university.
Explain to them the whole situation, as you have above.
I'm not sure you really have another option!

I'm sure everything will work out.
You have a lot of reasons in your favour:
-mental health
-healthcare
-home situation

All of these are significant too.
I hope you are feeling better.
I'm sure you will succeed this academic year.
Good luck!

I hope so too. Worst case scenario I take the year out and work in my uni city but that leads to a whole load of other problems :/

Thank you very much. Hopefully it will smooth itself out.

Hi, I just got an email from my uni that I'll have to do my retake as an external student, I've sent an email to my head of department asking if I can redo the year instead, as even if I do well in my retake, I'll still have 2:2 overall for second year, plus like I mentioned above, idk if it'd be good for me to be in Leeds working full time, trying to juggle everything :/
