Applying for PhD in Denmark with UK master’s degrees?

Trying my luck here and see if anyone has similar experience - if I completed a taught MSc and thesis-only MRes in Scotland, each one-year long, can I possibly apply for a three-year (5+3) PhD fellowship in Denmark? Or will I be required to do the four-year (4+4) scheme instead since I don’t have an equivalent Danish MA? The university grad school and Ministry of Higher Ed gave me contradicting responses, so I wanna see if anyone has actually been in this position (UK master’s proceeding to Danish PhD). Thanks a lot!

I don’t know the answer to this exact question, but I am Danish so can try to help anyway! I would imagine that the universities would be quite open-minded, as they get a lot of overseas applicants with varying backgrounds. Which universities are you considering applying to? Whichever they are, my best advice would be to contact them directly, as that way you know you will get an accurate response. Best of luck!
