Are facilitating subjects still a thing? Watch

According to this, they’ve been “ditched”. However, those subjects are still important in the eyes of Oxbridge and the top unis. How much of a role do they play now?

Yeah this is obvious. But on the Cambridge and Oxford website (the colleges) it recommends two facilitating subjects in general

If they recommend 2 then I guess they prefer 2.
I think ‘facilitating’ is quite a wide term, from looking at preferred subjects lists from unis like UCL
