Hi, thinking of doing a Murakami for my A-level lit coursework, looking at it through a feminist lens. Which one would you recommend for this? I've read like 1/4 of Norwegian Wood and like the book but I'm not sure there's that much interesting stuff re portrayals of women? Anyone read that and disagree? I don't think I can do 1Q84 bc there's already an eg aqa answer on it and I don't want to look like I'm copying!
Thanks, any suggestions vv appreciated

Agreed, but can feminist theory for lit help unpick them and analyse his portrayals of women (which are often quite bad/sexualised etc)? Like which ones are most interesting when looking at portrayals of women to write essays on?

Hmm, maybe "Sputnik Sweetheart"? It's been a while since I read it, but I remember thinking how his perception of women and what women want was clearly inaccurate and very male-centered...
