A lot less than that would get you drunk if you've never done it before.

That's over half the most you should have in a week. Don't. Getting drunk is not fun - it is not something to aim for.

Yes, 8/9 shots will get you drunk.
I wouldn't recommend Smirnoff, It is trash.
Buy Absolut Vodka - Similar price range - Superior product.

I have it on good authority that Russian Standard is one of the better "budget" vodkas. I think it costs about the same as Absolut
But OP this sounds like a terrible, terrible idea. Increase the amount you drink slowly don't aim for something ridiculous because you'll be in the hospital getting your stomach pumped.

Russian Standard is just as good in my eyes.
I suggested Absolut to the OP because she is a female.
Absolut stock "female-friendly flavoured vodka" - Raspberri, Pear, Rhubarb etc.

8/9 shots doesn’t sound like much alcohol is be surprised if it had much affect at all
