Biology personal statement

Hi all biology students! Trying to help my little brother out with something. He’s applying for biology at uni next year and has already wrote and extensive amount of his personal statement. He studies all three sciences at A Level plus an EPQ grade. He is wondering if it is necessary to go into the decisions/ the fact that he doesn’t do maths. He’s worried that not having maths will reduce his chances and is unsure if it needs mentioning in his statement. He got an 8/ A* GCSE maths.

He’s brilliant at science and is always studying, I never hear much from him unless he’s chanting some science lark! Will a sentence or two about justifying himself over this be worth it or will it slow him down?

Thanks!
He doesn’t have to say anything about his current subjects apart from what he likes in biology. His reference will talk about his various subjects. There’s no need to explain his choice of A levels - admissions staff want to know why he has chosen to apply for a biology degree.
