UCAS- Pearson or Edexcel?

When I fill in my grades on UCAS, pearson and edexcel are 2 separate options for the awarding organisation. I always thought they were the same thing, and on my certificates it says 'Pearson Edexcel' on the top. Help?

Pearson might cover different exams.
If its A levels use Edexcel.
