What kinds of work experience/achievements should you have on ur C.V? Not just grades please!

You should look at your target unis which will describe their whole selection process and will detail what sort of experience they want.
From my recollection there is specialist patient care, within the NHS where you see or follow actual treatment being delivered. That is normally with a doctor or close to and within the NHS. A few weeks at that is normally enough.

You can then add more distant patient care services, such as a care home, St Johns, voluntary work etc and a few weeks at that would see health services from a different community perspective.

How much they look for and what types are detailed by the medical school, but it can go from 0-4-6 weeks. You just need to check the selection policy.
I would just make sure I met the criteria for all the schools I had applied to and gotten it out of the way in the summer between years.

They are looking for reflection , insight and motivation from your experience.
