Okay scrap my last post😂. I need some help with my advanced higher English dissertation! Does anyone have any ideas for books and themes that would be interesting to compare? Thank you!

There is a list of different texts on
http://www.shetland-library.gov.uk/d...gBySubject.pdf
that are categorised into different categories, hope this helps.

I keep recommending these books to people but no-one seems to have done them yet.

Paula by Isabel Allende (originally written in Spanish but translated)
Please Look after Mother by Kyung-Sook Shin (originally written in Korean but translated)
The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa (originally written in Japanese but translated)

Excellent books and all very similar in themes/style. Have a read if you like. They're not that long either and are extremely enjoyable reads! Very, very contemporary and relevant. :rambo: They're some of my favourite books from university.

Try Please Look After Mother and the Housekeeper first. They're the shorter ones (especially Housekeeper).
