So i was choosing my courses for university and i really want to do optometry but unfortunately, since i was a child i have had a lazy eye in my left eye witch cannot focus properly as my right eye's vision is better, so my brain ignores my left eye. It has been fairly noticeable, but my friends and family dont say it because they feel it would lower my self esteem. If you guys were seeing an optometrist and he had a lazy eye what would you think? be honest please. Ultimately, i am just wondering if this would get in the way in getting a 2.1 or even working as a good optometrist. Thank you for reading all of this, and i would really appreicate any advice

Lmao I should hope it doesn’t matter, how unfair would that be. I know that if my optician had a lazy eye the better part of me would not care, it might even motivate me to wear my glasses more (no offence). I think it’s a shame though that you’re even considering not doing something you want to do because of a lazy eye. Bruh, just go for it.

You will go through an occupational health check with your firm university, so they will tell you if it's a problem. I don't know specifically how strict they are regarding eyesight checks; they may want you to get an additional eye test to see if your issue can be corrected.
