I got a conditional offer from Durham today!

Wow, congratulations! Can I ask what the application process was like as Ancient History at Durham would be my No.1 I am currently L6 and was wondering if you could recommend any books, documentaries, or articles etc. and any other things that stand out on a personal statement?

Hi! I have an offer for Archaeology at UCL. Any others out there?

Hi, first of all, congratulations! You should be so proud of yourself. Hopefully, I will be in the same position as you this time next year, but to help me get would you mind telling me what your GCSE and predicted A-level grades are and, what your offer from UCL is. Also, what super/extracurriculars did you do and how did you relate these to your passion for Archaeology. Again, huge congrats for getting an offer

Ooo! I've applied for Classical Civilisation/Studies at Leeds and Lincoln!!! Leeds as my firm choice and Lincoln as my backup!

Oh nice!! I went with ancient history in the end but most of the modules overlap which is exciting! And my firm and insurance are also in that order!!

Hi I'm afraid that I can't help you too much about Ancient History because I applied archaeology. If you want to apply for archaeology I think you may need to talk more about your field work and lab work, especially the connection between what you did and what you want to learn in Durham. What's more, I think you need to assure them that you know a lot about this subject and the program, for example, use some jargon like'cultural contact', 'ethnic archaeology', 'microarchaeology' to illustrate your research interest. I also found the personal statement guide in the student room is very helpful.
Hope you all the best in your future application.

What are your Predicted Grades and are you state or private? I’m private and predicted 44 on the IB but it’s all down to the interview, so fingers crossed we get one!
