Adult Nursing does open up career opportunities. There are different fields in which you could specialise in e.g. tissue viability nurse, respiratory nurse.

You could also look into doing dual nursing courses e.g. Adult with Child/Adult with MH Nursing. Though not all universities offer the dual ones. Southampton does. If you're interested definitely have a look online for more universities that do this and any entry requirements.

Nursing degrees are designed for people who want to be nurses, while people do move away from nursing, it’s often into things related to healthcare, such as pharmaceutical sales, or medical devices. There’s a whole world of specialisms that you can diversify into as a nurse, with a variety of advanced roles.

“Nurse prescriber” isn’t a role as such, nurses who undertake the V300 course to be able to prescribe do this as a means to augment the role they are in, such as diabetes specialist nurses, or nurses on ANP roles.
