I am so confused I could cry. So I have finished A-levels and I am applying to University this year on my own, and I have an old secondary school teacher as the person writing the reference. Usually you would use the 'buzzword' and the School would be the one to click and send off the application, but what do I do? If any other person has applied to Uni as a private applicant, please could you help?

Also, do unis look down on candidates applying as an individual?

I am having an old teacher do my reference and predictions but I am not applying through my 6th form that I left. Does anyone know if I am applying as an 'individual'?
There are 4 options on the form:
- through school : "Through a school or collegePlease select this option if your tutor/adviser at school or college will be writing your reference. Your tutor, or another member of staff at your school or college, should give you a buzzword."
- through a careers organisation
- through another organisation
- as an individual
