Hi

I would like to know where to start because I would like to learn how to Roblox script and how to use Roblox studio. I basically would like to build games and loads of stuff, but, I do not know how because I am a beginner and I would love to start learning.

Anyone know where I can go to start learning?

It would be great if someone could reply as soon as possible.

I will read all your replies from the 22nd September 2019 and onwards. Thanks so much.

Have you seen the tutorials on the official Roblox site? https://developer.roblox.com/en-us/l.../studio-basics

I know but I was thinking of taking a course or something like that. I didn’t really want to do it off the roblox website, I wanted to do a guided course on it or something like that.

The tutorials on the website do guide you through everything step-by-step, right from showing how to install Roblox Studio https://developer.roblox.com/en-us/a...s/Studio-Setup then creating a first game https://developer.roblox.com/en-us/a...our-First-Game and then a few others for adding some simple constructs like platforms, traps, powerups, etc.

There isn't really a tonne of stuff out there for Roblox though really - probably because the website covers many of the things you need to know. There's a few courses on Udemy, but they seem to pretty much cover all the same things that are explained on the website, and while they're fairly cheap, you still need to pay for them: https://www.udemy.com/topic/roblox-game-development/ (Make sure you check the content description of any course on Udemy before you pay so that you know what you're getting)

There's a youtube channel with a some scripting tutorials here as well - again, there's not really anything here which isn't explained on the website: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp1...LmSA/playlists

Just a bit more generally, I find the best way to learn something new like this is to start out with a goal in mind - think of a kind of game you'd like to try making (Doesn't need to be an original idea, the first goal is just to learn how to get stuff working and have something at the end which works). Sometimes just trying stuff out and google'ing or figuring things out is the best way to learn, even if it takes a while to get something working that way.

The scripting language used by Roblox is a modified version of Lua, so if you need to find out how to do things with Lua, then you might be able to find more general Lua programming help on Google or StackOverflow. (or maybe GameDev StackExchange)
