If you go into clearing, you call the uni and tell them the grades you achieved, your clearing number and your personal id, then they'll decide whether to accept you. I also made a list of possible unis that I'd want to go to if I went into clearing a week or two before
1. Use UCAS's search tool to find a course, change the study year to 2019-20.
2. Find Universities with the course you want to do.
3. Call them in the morning and see if they're still able to accept you.
You may as well take a year out and apply normally, I think every University will have started by the end of this week. You would be looking at having your SFE payments delayed by up to 6 weeks, and you'll have to find accommodation as a first year in a city you may not know very well... or have even heard of.
