Plato

Why is platos ideas still relevant today and how are his theories linking to today, linking this to the idea of the internet
Plato is considered as the first Philosopher by many actual interpreters, he hand wrote dialogues, most of which contains Socrates' existence. He is the only reason that we know what we know about Socrates

Read the Republic and you'll have a nice idea

One thing you might think about is how Plato criticised democracy because he said it was like letting sailors navigate a ship instead of a professional navigator (The Republic). In a democracy, people who are not qualified and lack knowledge get to decide what the state does. The problem is that "the people" are easily manipulated by clever politicians and public figures. It's like the ordinary sailors on a ship being persuaded to travel toward rocks by a particularly persuasive person, rather than listening to the professional navigator.

You might then consider how this is relevant in modern times with the way organisations (for example, pro-Brexit campaigners, climate change sceptics) and individual politicians (for example, Trump) use the internet to spread what we might say is false information. The internet has made the problem of democracy worse, we might argue.

PS: Use your own example, I've just picked ones I happen to think use false information.
