Acid buffers

CH3COOH CH3COO- + H+
When water is added to an acid buffer, I don't understand how this decrease the H+ ion concentration, and why does equilibrium shift to the right??
Because you've diluted it so the H+ conc. is lowered by definition of concentration. the ethanoic acid reacts with water to form ethanoate and htdroxonium ions (which is H3O+ but is often omitted from chemical equations and just written as H+). So more water reacts with the ethanoic acid to shift equilibrium right.
