Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to apply for a masters programme at Oxford. I have a question regarding funding options. I know we are able to get a loan from SFE of ten thousand pounds. For the MPhil, which is a two-year course, I believe this is split over the two years, so five thousand each year, as opposed to ten thousand for the one year MSt. I come from a low-income household and I am disabled, so I am a bit worried about the finance side of things.

I would like to apply for the MPhil in an ideal world and spend more time there, but if it will be more challenging financially for me, I am tempted to go for the MSt instead.

However, my question is...
Are MPhi courses more likely to attract funding from the University/the research council? As you're going to be contributing a more significant piece of research, surely?

If everyone could let me know their thoughts on this, I would be so grateful :-)

Thanks!
