Trump is now framing his Biden obsession as explicitly non-political and purely about "corruption". When asked if he's investigated anyone else but Biden, he couldn't answer.

A succinct breakdown of the quid pro quo:

And now Trump has confessed to obstruction of justice in the impeachment inquiry: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...ouse-democrats

His press secretary and any lawyers on his staff must be at their wits end with how he insists on repeatedly incriminating himself

That classic defence. Yes I did something completely wrong and immoral, why are you making such a big deal about it?

With the investigation morphing from administrative to criminal and heraldo Rivera predicting a run on defense attorneys in D.C. I predict someone, somewhere is going to come up with a way that Pelosi and shiff can walk away from the whole thing with no vote in the house and nothing more said by either of them. But all the guilty heads under them for the last 3 or 4 yrs. Are gonna roll. Just think, your an investigator sent out to get dirt on a man you consider to be nothing more than a game show host. Your gonna pull all kinds of crap trying to get dirt on him. When the amount of dirt you get wouldn't fill a small shovel your gonna do some reeally weird ****. Now this guy is Pres. Of the U.S. This is great stuff. Great time to be an American.

Following allegations that Trump used diplomatic procedures to dig up dirt on democrat primary candidate Joe Biden.

Do you believe the allegations? Do the democrats have any chance of not getting blocked by the republican members of the house?
Pelosi is going to regret opening up this can of rooms. The investigation just went criminal. Read the transcript. There was no deal but there are a lot of guilty Dems around especially in 2016. They'

They've assured Trump a victory and he hasnt even begun his campagin. Anyone with a job and a brain will vote for Trump

If the Dems can navigate these proceedings with skill (and one would hope so if they being led by Pelosi), then this could be a win for them. All of Trump's scandals can be rehashed, right before the election year, force moderate Republicans in swing seats into defending an evidently guilty man, and distract from Trump's economic talking points. Lets be realistic here, Donald Trump is not going to be impeached, not with this Senate, but these proceedings can put him and his party on the defensive and improve the chances of a Democratic win next year. Not to mention it distracts from the miserable specter of Democrats slinging mud at each other in the primary.
You got one thing right. Trump is not going to be impeached.

Is there a single trump supporter that deals in reality? The more that comes out, the worse it gets from Trump as it becomes clearer how he abused the powers of office to try and get dirt on Hunter Biden as a way of attacking Joe. He's in real trouble if the rule of law is respected

You're clearly not, plenty of testimonies, most recently the senior diplomat to the Ukraine Bill Taylor, have made the quid pro quo incredibly clear

American politics is profoundly dirty and no one will ever just come amd make an honest statement about anything except, yeah. You guessed it, Donald Trump. And guess what happened, Nobody can handel it!!! Especially all the brainiacs on TSR. You guys and most Americans have grown up hearing politicians talk and answer questions in a manner that tries it best to not offend anyone old enough to vote. Thankfully the dems have no one to even give him a decent run for the as shown by the fact that their still looking and blacks and latinos are now "awoke", to borrow a phrase. 2020 is going to unravel the dem. Party and it will be taken over by radical socialists who will say they lost again because they werent wacky enough to the left and thats the end of the begining of the end for the the same dem. Party that brought you the KKK among other things.

Great idea, here is the transcript of the Bill Taylor testimony: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbs...t-to-congress/

It spells out, incredibly clear as you say, that all financial aid to the Ukraine was being withheld and it's reinstatement "was dependent on a public announcement of investigations [into Trumps conspiracy theories about Hunter Biden], including security assistance".

The quid pro quo has been made evident, it's all down to whether enough of the republican senators still believe in decency and the rule of law and thus vote to remove the criminal in chief

Read the transcript of the call. Sondland set taylor straight on what the Pres. Meant. Ukraine didnt know the money had already been held up over corruption concerns.. Zelensky said he felt no pressure. Why? Because he didnt even know it had been held up because of overall concerns about corruption.

Arguing that the corruption was inept doesn't mean there was no corruption.

But quite why you're even bothering with this on a British forum is baffling.

It's a single thread.

That you feel you need to defend the orange numpty so vehemently against people who have zero effect on the result of any election just screams insecurity. It makes sense that you follow him.

They are vehemently attacking the great president despite having no influence, of course there will be a reaction.
