How do I boost my application for English Literature?

I am thinking about applying for English Literature at a top university. Does anyone have any ideas for extra curriculars, volunteering and work experience related to this? Thanks :smile:

For English Lit, you don't really need special extra curriculars, volunteering or work experience... And, no - you won't get an advantage for having any. I actually can't imagine where you'd volunteer or attain work experience considering that English Lit is an academic subject and not a vocational one.

I would say to read beyond your school syllabus. Don't just read obvious classical and modern greats, but also read literature that might not be as popular like Perfume by Patrick Süskind etc.
