Grant refusal

Hi my son has just applied for hes third year at university, and for some reason he has been refused but has been issued monies for hes digs, has anyone came across this, and what steps need to be taken

Contact SFE and identify why he has been refused. Has he applied? Has anything changed? How many years funding has he used already?
Has he done foundation, changed courses or failed a year? Sounds like they think he has used up his tuition entitlement. You dont say.
