Laundry at Woolf College

Hello,

This by far has been the best place to get information about Uni of Kent

I have some questions about laundry on-campus. I wasted the weekend trying to the Circuit App to register my email and password but that didn't work like the website/signage instructed. Won't sign-in since it won't register my account at all.

So Monday morning I went to the reception and they gave me a laundry card which they said I can top-up on circuit.co.uk.

I went to the website and followed the instructions, Woolf College doesn't appear on their website, can I use something else like Darwin, Turing etc...?

Also they only accept payments through PayPal. When I try to add my debit card to PayPal it says "Due to technical difficulties, your request couldn't be completed. Please wait a little while and try again." Is there any other way I can pay?

To summarise all the questions:
- App does not work, card is the only option, can I register my account under another college?
- Is there any way to pay with cash/coins for the top-up since PayPal is facing "technical difficulties"

It's been 4 days I've been trying this, I really need to get the laundry done :ashamed2:

Hey, did u figure it out in the end? Which option did u choose instead of Woolf college as that also does not seem to be an option still? Also where is the Woolf college laundry room located? Asking because I start there next month 😊.

Hey there @elegoo I am sorry to hear about your issues with the laundry! I imagine it is a heavy pain🙄

I imagine you have checked https://www.kent.ac.uk/accommodation around this. As it seems, it must have been little assistance.

One thing I could imagine which may work is perhaps you can pay with your KentOne card. You may be able to find some more information around this at https://www.kent.ac.uk/kentonecard

Also, maybe it is beneficial to call up your Student Support for some help or even call up the accommodation. You should be able to find the numbers on the links I provided.

Hi, any idea which laundry room option I should choose? As it doesn’t offer Woolf college as an option, only these ones: Becket court, Beverly farm, Darwin college, Darwin college houses, Eliot college, Keynes college, Parkwood houses, Parkwood flats, Rutherford college, Turing college and Tyler courts A and B. Also if I have to choose one of these instead on the Circuit app can I still track which ones are available etc. in the Woolf college one?

I hope you're keeping well. 🙂

Since you'll be living at Woolf, which is sort of on the edge of campus itself, it might not be a bad idea to use the Darwin facilities, which I think you'll find at Darwin College rather than in the house area itself.
Here is a nice map of campus to help you understand where you'll be stationed relative to everywhere else.
As you can see, Darwin and Tyler Court are probably the closest to where you'll be at, but I have actually talked to some people in Woolf at the Keynes facilities as well, so that might be a more picturesque or reliable place to try out.

As for the app, you don't need to actually note down in which building you do your washing, you just have to scan a QR code on the washing and drying machines themselves. Then you can track your machine after returning back to Woolf, and it will tell you how long (roughly) it will take for the cycle to complete. Usually, the cycles last from 50min - 1hour, so plenty of time to return back to your accommodation for a little rest.
