Swansea or Surrey for Chemical Engineering

I have an offer of studying Chemical Engineering at both of these universities but can't decide which will be better.
The course at Surrey that I've been offered is 5 years (with a foundation year) while at Swansea 4 years without a foundation year. Despite this, I'd still like to know which university will be better overall. I have some days to decide.
Swansea is a lovely campus and is great for engineering. I would suggest this

Hello

Have you had a look at the league tables and student-led reviews for each University? In the Guardian League tables Surrey and Swansea are only split by 4 places in the overall table and 2 places on the Chemical Engineering table.

Swansea University recently won the WhatUni Student University of the Year award, which is voted for by students (https://www.whatuni.com/student-awards-winners/university-of-the-year/). You can read what students said about the university here https://www.whatuni.com/university-profile/swansea-university/5778/.

You also need to think about the location of the university - here are some facts about Swansea that you might not know https://www.swansea.ac.uk/study/why-study-in-swansea/.

If you want to find out more about the specifics of the course here at Swansea we've got the perfect page for you here https://www.swansea.ac.uk/engineering/chemical/chemical-course/.

Our graduates have gone on to find careers in various industries such as energy/power stations, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, oil and gas, brewing, food, water treatment, environmental, and for companies such as Tata Steel, BP, GlaxoSmithKline, Phillips 66 and Pepsi Co. 96% of our graduates are in work or further study 6 months after graduating with their average salary being £25,000 (16/17 Graduate DLHE).

I would suggest coming to our next open day to get some more information, speak to students and see where you'll be studying. Here's a link to book your place https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/undergraduate-open-day-saturday-19th-october-2019-tickets-57713948975.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Thanks

Tamsyn
