Edexcel igcse English language A vs B?

What's the main difference between these 2? I heard A requires schoolwork and contains unseen stuff, so it's not suited for self-taut students?

I do Language B. Which is just one paper that is 3 hours long. I do believe that is easier to teach to yourself as Language A requires the analysis of texts that you need to study before hand (I believe that it is a bit like literature).
