please mark my paragraph on an inspector calls!

I've been given some homework to answer the following question : How does Priestley present Mr birling as an unlikeable character? so far ive done one short paragraph, so I want to make sure its been done okay so I know how to continue - please could you mark my answer and give me ideas on how to develop this paragraph!

At the start of the play, Priestley presents Mr Birling as an unlikeable character through his ignorance. This is shown in the text when birling delivers his speech at his daughter, Sheila, calling the Titanic "unsinkable, absolutely unsinkable". Here, Priestley's use of dramatic irony not only disproves this statement, but also allows the audience to understand that Birling is not wise ; he is, in fact, quite the opposite. As the play was written in 1945, we know that his bold statement is untrue, therefore presenting birling as naïve and oblivious.
its sort of basic it lacks the perceptive interpretation and the explanation for your point is really common and examiners won't like that, try saying this:
POINT - Priestley immediately introduces Mr Birling as an ignorant and conceited character to the audience to create within them a dislike to this uneducated business man.
EVIDENCE- (the quote you have already used)
EXPLANATION- The use of this dramatic irony is for the spectators to disconnect any sort of trust or confidence in anything that Mr birling says from the start to the end of the play. We begin to unconsciously disagree to what Birling says, which in return makes us automatically agree to the opposite, which is Priestleys socialism ideas that is encouraged later on in the play.

I hope this helps
