I can only really say what I said this time last year (and probably the year before that), which is that even from the privileged position of being someone who will be sifting through applications rather than filling them in, I have not forgotten how arduous and draining this process is. Best of luck to everyone who is applying this year, and as ever I'm happy to answer questions and offer guidance where I can (if you want to guarantee that I do see any question you have, you'll want to quote or tag me so that I get notified of it). There are also other practising barristers of various levels of call and current or future pupils on the site who are also more than happy to field questions and offer guidance where they can, so don't be afraid to make use of us.

Is anyone able to shed some light on Trainee legal advisor interviews and how to prepare if there is a legal assessment?

This thread won't give you access to a lot of people who can answer that question. Might be worth making a separate thread if you haven't already.

Has anyone any knowledge of the Whitestone chambers application process/the chambers itself? Their website is not giving me much except for entertainment purposes...

My giddy aunt....never before have I seen such a triumph of style over substance. They must have spent a fortune on designing that website, yet all it has behind it are a small group of average-looking/sounding advocates with very little case-history/achievement to back up the snazzy graphics. Given they appear to market themselves as 'aviation specialists' and pillars of the Commercial Bar, they are competing with very strong names indeed. Their academics are average, they don't have a silk amongst them and they can't even name a heavyweight customer. I wonder if they'll even be around in a year's time...!

I hope they didn't spend a fortune on the design of the website.

It doesn't say much about their commercial acumen if that were the case.

Cobblestone Chambers seems about right.

I take it interviews have been held already. I haven't heard either way so I assume that's a rejection by silence. Congrats on your interview!
