Hi, I have applied for a PGCE secondary course in History. I have looked on the application process which explains I'll have to do a 5 minute micro teach exercise as part of my interview! I am a bit worried about this as I have no idea on what to do it on and what would be a fun idea! Any help is appreciated as I have absolutely no idea

did they give you a list of topics to choose from? or an age group? look through the national curriculum and pick a topic that you are confident to teach in 5 minutes. try and think of an object that you could bring in too perhaps?

If you've been given a free reign to choose your topic, I would pick something you are interested in that's also on the national curriculum. Honestly, the topic doesn't matter as much as how you present it- the interviewers want to be able to imagine you standing up in front of a class.
