Kinematics -simple

For Q30 c I used S=ut+1/2at^2 at t=1 and t=5 and took the difference.

solves it differently, which method is correct ? And if mine is wrong can someone please explain?

Your method is fine as long as you substitute in the right things. Their method is a little extra

The answers are diff tho, would my answer be correct ?
It asks for the distance travelled in the first second (t=0 to t=1) and the fifth second (t=4 to t=5)
