I’ve got this maths question and I can’t figure out how to get it in the right form to find the discriminant. If anyone could help at all I would be very thankful!

Prove that the equation 4𝑥+3 / 2x - 1 + 6𝑥+1 / 2x +3 = 3 has no real roots

multiply both sides by (2x-1)(2x+3) to remove everything from denominators. Expand all of the brackets and move terms to 1 side to get a quadratic. Simply use the discriminant to show that there are no real roots.

= [2x-1 + 2(x+2)]/(2x-1) + [2(2x+3) + 2x-5]/(2x+3)
= 3 + 2(x+2)/(2x-1) + (2x-5)/(2x+3) = 3
So 2(x+2)(2x+3) = (5-2x)(2x-1) (x =/= 0.5, -3/2)
You should be ok from here
