Please help

Water and oxygen can move across the membrane of the alveoli in the lungs. How would their paths through the alveoli cell membrane differ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Oxygen is a gas which moves via diffusion whereas water moves via osmosis. On the inner surface of the alveoli, a thin film of moisture forms which reduces the forces and therefore significantly reducing the risk of alveoli collapsing. This layer can evaporate away when you exhale.
