Long story short last year November 2018, i had a black box policy, the box was faulty recording ghost trips and daft scores, i received an email from General accident saying they were going to cancel my policy in 7 days, (31st November) after arguments with the company they would not accept any issues with the box.

I, Myself canceled the policy on the 30th and had insurance on the 31st(no gap in coverage). i had a policy with admiral paying the same amount i was before but without a black box, with declaring i had an insurance cancelation.

The time had come to renew my insurance and the quote from admiral is more expensive than it was last year even with 1 year NCB. i am looking for other policies, but the price is still high because of the cancelation.

My question is. how do i check if the cancelation is on my record?

i've received information from the MIB and it mentions nothing about a cancelation. i've sent a request to my previous insurer for all the details they hold on me.

i've been given conflicting advice, some saying because i cancelled it it doesn't go on my record, but other saying that it will because they did cancel it.

I appreciate all the help i can get.

Cheers in advance

If you cancelled before their cancellation on you became effective, you don't have to declare it.

It annoys me to say this, but you don't have a cancellation.
