Applied for Law, got an ABB offer.

Applied for Law and got an AA or AAB (different subjects) offer.

I went up there today, and it looks great. Is a viable option if I can get in halls for, at least, the first year.

If you live outside the M25 you will.

Arse - I live about 10 miles inside it. They say on the website over an hour on public transport will get you in. I timed it on Wednesday and it took an hour, but that doesn't include my 20 minute walk to my town's station.

I've e-mailed them, so hopefully i'll get an anwser about it from them.

In that case you'll get put on the reserve list. There are people in year 1 who have longer than an hours commute who didn't get halls, equally some peeps in the bracket got halls a week before term started.
What does it mean when you receive a letter saying you have been recommended a place and given dates for the Open Day?

Hey,

I got one of those letters just a few days before i was sent my offers from UCAS and from QM... I assume its the same as what i was sent, so congrats, i think you're being given a place!

I myself was extremely confused when i received that letter. I kept wondering, so are you offering me a place or what?

I went to the open day on 17th Nov where they showed us around the campus and were given a few talks.

I hate it when they talk in riddles. Goddamnit, just tell me out straight if I have an offer or not.

Well if they hold an open day for the recipient of the letters that isn't on their website or their prospectus then it might be for those who have been made an offer but don't know it yet. Not totally sure on Queen Mary's logistics here.
I have applied for LLM in QM.

Are there any o ppinions about QM's Law School??

Looked very nice to me.

For those that went to the open day on the 17th... I was the guy that asked the question about accommodation (How much does it cost, and is it guaranteed)
I knew the anwsers already, just wanted him to talk about it.
(Don't worry, I wouldn't remember me either)

Yes, i remember you... I found it quite amusing that out of a whole group of potential 'lawyers' no one seemed to want to say or ask anything!

I agree QM did look quite nice... I don't think i'd mind going there!

Well when QM sent me my "we're recommending you for a place..." letter, it invited me to the open day on the 17th Nov and it said to go to the open day even if you hadn't received an offer from UCAS by that time.

Also when i went on the Open Day, the D of S said that, "...you're all in the privileged position of having an offer from QM..."

So if you've received a letter similar to mine, i'd assume that QM want to make you an offer! Though i don't blame anyone for being highly confused by it...
