Anyone else believe that within our society there is too much of a large percentage of people that are just plain idiots.

Ive encountered quite a few within the last week or so.

The best one being oint out this wasnt face to face, it was through a microphone while he was lon the other side of the shop, so obviously i will be talking phonetic ( i could see him though)

Guy - " ok mate, what is your car reg?"
me - " its sierra quebec fife tree yankee zulu hotel" (eg plate)

The guy just looked at me like ..................."sorry mate i dont understand what you just said to me , can i have the reg?"

Me - "*sigh* sq53 yzh" <---- best to point out was i had to say this 4 -5 times for him to get the letters

How can someone not understand what i was saying, its plain common sense

And just for the hell of it http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4246472.stm

19/20 damn hyphen

I would have probably done the same, as that guy. It's easier just to say the letters and numbers.

LOL, i'd have loved to see the expression on your face when they guy didn't understand you. But seriously, i thought using the phonetic alphabet was pretty common- have to sometimes use it on the phone etc too.

Ok, so one guy not understanding, what you meant, leads you to the conclusion that society contains a large number of morons.

Ahh, one/ a few.

What's the point of this thread, it hardly makes sense. You're just telling us, your encounters, with "morons", with your "best one2, being a crappy example.

So, if we all agree the majority of society is moronic, would that make you feel better about yourself or would you look at the statistics and include yourself in the majority?

I would defiantly say that the majority of society was very bright and in my time I've met very few people who I was unable to hold a decent conversation with.

Would do if people here

1. Dont know the phonetic alphabet.
2. Dont understand the phonetic aplhabet.
3. Are genuinely stupid.

Just remembered another amusing one.

Asked for an invoice to be addressed to my business. He asked me what is an invoice! He went and got the supervisor, that just made my jaw drop to the floor!
