Anybody here work for Wickes?

I have an interview for a Job at Wickes with a bloke called Mike :p: , sounded very enthusiastic about my application which gives me quite a bit of confidence!

My questions are, how does the pay system work? Also, what is the wage for a 17 year old and are there any pay multipliers on weekends or holidays?

Thanks

hey there,

I worked for Wickes for three years before going to uni. The pay system, well you get paid on the 15th of every month 2 weeks in arrears. There is no extra pay for working weekends or holidays. However, if you work a bank holiday then you are entitled to time off in lieu. It's a really good company to work for, i absolutely loved it - was gutted when I had to leave!

Yeah the pay was pretty good. I left a while ago now so I dont know what it is right now! I ran the customer services desk, so over time I learned so much about the products I was able to help everyone with their enquiries, arranging deliveries and all that sort of thing. I also used to design kitchens for people (you probably wont do that). Most people either do tills or work on the shop floor doing stock.
