I think they should be banned because they might arouse men.

No, because they've got to know what the hidden meanings mean for them to spot them and if they do they've already been exposed to an explanation somewhere else (thus something/someone else is to blame).

End of thread frankly.

Anything can be made dirty if you think about it hard enough.

Well that goes without saying but how do you suppose to change what other people think about?

Nursery rhymes are just fun songs for children, sure some might have sinister roots (I.e Ring around the Roses--The Plague.) but in today's society they are just songs. If someone got turned on by them I think they would have issues anyway regardless.

May as well be porn though! How far-fetched can you be. Come on, what's the 'porno' link to 'Wheels on the Bus'?

Yeah, that was a little extreme but I was mainly referring to immoral links etc. -- or supposedly immoral links, depending on which way you look at things --

e.g

Alice in Wonderland -

From Opium smoking caterpillars
to Going down the 'rabbit' hole
and Hanging out with mad people.

--

Snow White -

Hanging out with 7 weird little men, being enslaved to cook food and force the will of filthy 'at heart' bloke to wash -
Kissing said blokes on the way to work, and even giving the grumpy on a bit of a flush
Being a general '****' gets you through life - i.e. Axemen won't hack you to bits. Dwarves will love you, but jealous women will try and kill you, but she'll die and some right big dicked bloke will come round to sort you out.

Great lessons -

Mainly Disney I assume. But lots have roots that in some you don't even need to dig too deep to see - Just wondered, because in a way stuff like this with hidden meanings may be picked up well for later life as the young mind is far more alert and sponge like I guess -

Maybe watching Disney helps you grow into a sexual being or a criminal who knows?

Keep discussing.

Snow white and Alice in Wonderland aren't nursery rhymes, they are fairy tales.

I don't think it effects you because pretty much everyone watches all the Disneys' and don't turn out wrong sexually. Although I get what you're saying, I mean the role-models for young girls aren't exactly strong independent women!

Erm I stated - childrens film/nursery rhyme in my thread

Not everyone watches disney.
Yep that's what I'm driving at. These days it thing like Shrek and Flushed Away with women in it who kick the crap out of people and stuff as if promoting lesbianism and rugby.

I do reckon there are hidden meanings in cartoons, wether intended or not. The human mind is imaginative enough to make something else out of hings intended to be innocent - As someone said if you think hard enough you can elicit 'dirty' or 'immoral' things from them... whether it's an influence or not I guess it's for the censors to argue - although I'd say there's some contribution in there somewhere - but perhaps kids are too unknowledgable at the time of viewing so it makes no odds until they grow and are introduced anyway??????????
