6a) The line joining the circle center to the chord chord will make a right angle with AB. That gives the gradient and it passes through (6,7), so you could treat it as an intersection of two lines.
7b) is similar. If the tangent is parallel to the given line, you know the gradient of the line joining the center to the tangent point. You know its center, so you can work out the point(s) where the meet.

There would be other equivalent ways of solving the problems.

Use the fact that the two lines are perpendicular so the product of the gradients is -1
