Boy messaged me on snapchat but takes so long to reply

So, there’s a boy in one of my classes and we matched with each other on Tinder.
He then messaged me on Tinder and we had a conversation going. A couple of days in the conversation, he asked for my Snapchat - which I gave him.
He then messaged me on Snapchat and we continued talking.
A week passed and I ‘patched’ his message - I just lost interest in the conversation.
A couple of days went by and I messaged him again and we started messaging each other again.
And I did the exact same thing and patched his message - I get bored texting really easily and didn’t mean anything by it.
A few days ago, there was an event that we were both at. After the event, he’d asked if I liked the event and then we started messaging again.
However, his replies sometimes takes about 4 hours even though I seen that he was active... It was like this from the start but I don’t understand why he takes so long to reply? A couple of hours ( even if he’s been active) is fine, but why 4/5 hours?

It sucks , I know. He may not be interested, or perhaps he’s just busy?
